At Proteus Sports Group, we connect coaches with opportunities across schools, clubs, early learning centres and community sport. Whether you're an experienced coach looking to take the next step or just starting your coaching journey, Proteus provides a network where you can gain experience, develop your skills and build a future in sport.
With over 60 coaches in our network, spanning a range of sports, experience levels and coaching backgrounds, Proteus is built around bringing good people together and creating opportunities for them to grow.
We're inviting coaches to register their interest in opportunities available now and for the 2027 sporting year.
A Variety of Coaching Opportunities
One of the things that makes coaching with Proteus unique is the variety of environments you can work in. Our coaches have the opportunity to gain experience across different age groups, sports, programmes and levels of competition.
Depending on your experience, interests and availability, opportunities may include:
Early Learning & Preschool: Delivering engaging movement, fundamental movement skills and introductory sport experiences for young children.
School Sports Programmes: Supporting physical education, sport development and participation within primary and secondary schools.
Holiday Programmes: Delivering fun, active and engaging programmes for children during school holidays.
Club Football & Community Sport: Supporting grassroots development, assisting club teams and delivering specialised coaching sessions.
Team Coaching: Taking responsibility for a team, planning training sessions and supporting players throughout a season.
School Team Coaching: Coaching school teams, preparing players for competition and helping students develop their skills and understanding of the game.
Specialist & Individual Coaching: Supporting players through targeted technical development, 1:1 coaching and sport-specific opportunities where available.
Not every coach will work across all these environments. We aim to connect the right people with opportunities that suit their skills, interests, experience and availability.

At Proteus, we believe good coaches need more than a place to turn up and deliver a session. They need communication, support, opportunities to learn and a network that helps them progress.
We actively coordinate and communicate with our coaches to connect them with suitable opportunities across our programmes and partnerships. Rather than operating in isolation, our coaches are part of a wider network that shares knowledge, builds relationships and creates opportunities throughout the year.
With coaches ranging from entry-level and developing coaches through to highly experienced and professional-level practitioners, there are opportunities to learn from people with different backgrounds and perspectives.
We take pride in building long-term relationships with our coaching team. Many of our coaches have been part of Proteus for three years or longer, reflecting our focus on consistency, relationships and continued development.
