2026 Sports Coaching at PSG

Reports To: Proteus Sports Manager
Location: Proteus Sports Group Facilities & Assigned Sporting Venues in Christchurch.
Position Overview
The Sports Coach is responsible for delivering high-quality coaching across multiple sports within the Proteus Sports Group programs. This role supports athletes of varying ages and skill levels, promoting skill development, fitness, teamwork, and a positive sporting experience. The coach ensures sessions are safe, engaging, and aligned with Proteus Sports Group standards and values.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate multi-sport coaching sessions for youth and/or adult participants.
Teach fundamental skills, rules, techniques, and game strategies across various sports.
Create a positive, inclusive, and motivational training environment.
Ensure athlete safety through proper supervision, warm-ups, cool-downs, and adherence to safety guidelines.
Provide constructive feedback to athletes to support skill development and confidence.
Monitor athlete progress and adjust sessions to meet individual needs.
Maintain equipment, set up training spaces, and ensure facilities are kept in good condition.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and stakeholders.
Support Proteus Sports Group events, competitions, and community engagement activities.
Uphold company values, safeguarding policies, and coaching best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience coaching one or more sports (multi-sport coaching experience preferred).
Relevant coaching certifications or willingness to obtain them.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage groups with professionalism and confidence.
Understanding of athlete development principles and safe sport practices.
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Position Overview
The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating, managing, and delivering engaging digital content that promotes Proteus Sports Group’s programs, events, and brand identity. This role focuses on social media strategy, content production, and digital engagement to grow the organisation’s online presence and strengthen its connection with athletes, families, partners, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Produce high-quality content including photos, videos, reels, graphics, and written posts.
Manage the day-to-day operation of social media channels, responding to messages, comments, and community interactions.
Track, analyse, and report on social media performance, engagement metrics, and campaign outcomes.
Support marketing campaigns for events, programs, athlete development initiatives, and brand partnerships.
Coordinate content capture at key trainings, events, and competitions as required.
Assist with website updates, email newsletters, and general brand communication.
Work closely with coaching staff and management to ensure all content aligns with Proteus Sports Group’s values, tone, and visual identity.
Maintain an organised content calendar and plan ahead for key activities and announcements.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
Strong skills in photography, videography, and basic editing (mobile or software-based).
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content platforms.
Excellent writing and communication skills, with attention to detail and tone.
Understanding of social media trends, analytics, and best practices.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
